Malibu ice was , as we believe , the most photographed carthere. Rod Tech started with a very solid , nearly rust free body. The chassis , floorboards ,engine , and interior were all sold. A custom built frame from Art Morissonbecame the foundation for the complete new build. Specifically made for this car. Morisson needed about 100 dimensions of what would be the finished vehicle . They took into account the 20" and 22" Bon Speed wheels . The motor mounts forthe ZL- 1 GM aluminum big block and the Tremic five speed transmission . Wheeltubs , inner fenders , exhaust placement , and dozens of other items were taken intoaccount to achieve this spectacular result

The ZL-1 big block ,supplied by Randall Farnsworth , was polished , as were theEdelbrock heads and the electronic fuel injection . Seely Engines supplied theexpertise to blueprint , build and dino this work of art . Seely easily produced 632horsepower and 682 foot pounds of torque from the 511ci block .Body modifications are endless . The top was dropped an average of 1 1/2" front toback . Ice now rests 44" off the road. The rear quarters were slit open and bulged1/2" to give the sides some shape . The firewall was removed and a new one made andplaced 6 inches further into the body . The dash was also moved farther into the carand 2 inches added to its depth . The gauge cluster , center console , air cleaner ,inner fenders , and rear tubs were all hand formed from sheet metal over wood forms. The beautiful slim bumpers were custom made in our shop . The floor pans weremade and ribbed so that they would look fabulous from below . All mounting boltsare hidden from below to give her bottom that sleek smooth look and feel . Ice’s glass was formed and specially made by Procurve to fit perfectly . Her exhaust wascustom made to fit inside the frame and Cermachromed in California to look greatfor a very long time . Even the exhaust pipe hangers were custom made . This shouldbegin to explain the 5000 plus hours we put into making " ice " a sweet ride .All exterior light lenses were cast in clear acrylic . New blue dots were also made toreplace the red dots. A new trunk emblem was also cast. We even made a shiftknob in the color of the car . We haven’t even mentioned the fully programmable digital and computerized air ride system, with 7" of lift , or the 12" polished Willwooddisc brakes . How about the Pioneer CD , 7" DVD , GPS system . All new VDOgauges. Vintage heat and air . Power steering . Polished brakes from Willwood . Aclutch / brake assembly that was all custom made . Power windows . How about acustom interior made from Euro leather , as soft as kitten fur . The interiormoldings were all formed by hand . The engine was all hard lined and everythingpolished . Brake lines and airlines ,wiring and stuff , were all hidden in the frame ordoor sills .We can go on and on , but , Malibu ice speaks for herself , just as it should be forsuch a lovely lady with … Attitude ! ice is HOTTTT !!!!!
